This island tour has been specially designed for Wildlife, Cultural & Heritage enthusiasts and available all year around. Sri Lanka has a very high rate of biological endemism in the world whether in plants or animals and is included among the top five biodiversity hotspots in the world.
You will be starting your tour by spending one night in the coastal city of Chilaw. You will be visiting the Wilpattu National Park, Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home and Udawalawe National Park during this tour. You will be doing two jeep safaris in the two National Parks where you will be able to see the animals in their natural habitat. You will get a chance to spot many species of mammals found in Sri Lanka including Asian elephants, sloth bear, leopards, sambar, wild buffaloes, red slender Loris, Toque Macaque and Purple-faced Langur.
You will be visiting six out of eight UNESCO World Heritage sites, including archeological relic sites in Anuradhapura to witness enormous Dagabas (dome-shaped structures), world famous frescoes at Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Cave Temple Complex of Dambulla, Horton Plains National Park, the amazing fortifications of Galle Dutch Fort and Kandy City, the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka and the home of the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Horton Plains National Park and Sinharaja Rain Forest is rich in biodiversity and many species found are endemic. Horton Plains is an important bird area and large herds of Sri Lankan Sambar deer is spotted here.
You will be visiting Nuwara Eliya also called "Little England" where you will be amazed by the misty mountains covered with lush green tea bushes and splendid waterfalls.
Further you will visit a Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda and go on a river Safari in Maadu River. You will be ending this tour by relaxing on the world famous south coast beaches.
